The Czech National Centre for Nuclear Information (INIS System) AND an independent printing shop.

Information services     Printing shop

Commissioned by the Czech State Office for Nuclear Safety (
www.sujb.cz), the Information Section of the Nuclear Information Centre (NIC) Zbraslav acts as the National Centre for the International Nuclear Information System (INIS) which is administered by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

Within this task, the Nuclear Information Centre Zbraslav is responsible for Czech input to the INIS Database and for providing INIS information services and products to users in the Czech Republic.

For details concerning the INIS Database the reader is referred to the INIS Home Page at http://www.iaea.org/inis/inis.htm. The following services and products are offered to users:

  • Sale of the INIS Database on CD-ROM
  • Retrospective literature search using INIS Database on CD-ROM on the premises of the Nuclear Information Centre Zbraslav
  • Periodical literature search through the latest update of the INIS Database (by the SDI system [Selective Dissemination of Information])

The INIS Database is also accessible on-line on the internet on a paid-on basis. Just visit the web site at http://www.iaea.org/inis/inisdb.htm, test the demo and, if it appeals to you, register on-line directly with the IAEA. If you wish, NIC staff will help you to formulate your query and to make full benefit of the database.

The Nuclear Information Centre promotes the use of the INIS Database by personal contacts, by mailing IAEA leaflets, by publishing advertisements in scientific journals, etc.

All services are provided at reasonable prices.

Included in the Information Section is also the NIC Library which acts, among other things, as the Document Delivery Service providing users in the Czech Republic (and abroad on the individual basis) with INIS Non-Conventional literature.

The printing shop is an independent business where customers in the Czech Republic as well as abroad can have publications printed in typical amounts of up to 5000 copies, although a higher run can be ordered on an individual basis. The printing shop produces high-quality four-colour publications based on the offset technology. Publications printed include for instance:
  • journals
  • product catalogues
  • travel agency catalogues
  • trade fair catalogues and directories
  • brochures, pamphlets, leaflets
  • annual reports, training course texts
  • low-printing books, etc.

The printing shop cooperates closely with book-binding companies so that special customer's wishes can also be satisfied. Nuclear Information Centre Zbraslav will arrange for express delivery of the product to any place the customer specifies.
